it's showing in the theater again for special edition. the movie was pretty good, but all i can remember is that i felt really dizzy after the movie... i had no problem last time when i saw Alice in Wonderland. but i guess Avatar was too long, and my head started to hurt, so i took off my glasses in the middle of the movie. the scenic in the movie was beautiful, but the floating land reminds me of 宮崎駿's animation. similar idea IMO.

JW Marriott

this is where the party started!! we had a suite in JW Marriot for a friend B-day party. it's right next to the Nokia theater. mmmm~ i feel like i am in vegas~
View from the room. we got kick out from the room since we were too loud, so we decided to cut the cake by the poolside, but it was closed since it's too late. so i didn't get a chance to see it. then we moved to the lobby and celebrate there.
cakes for the B-day girls. cutting the cake part is such a hassel... we kept moving from one location to another. it not like we had a choice since we can't go back to the suite. but i think it would be very crowded if we try to fit 40 people in the room orz....

Flemings

i luv HH~~ we went to Fleming before the party start. Flemings HH is great~~ great price, great food, great environment. all cocktail and appetizer are $6 dollar only. i always wanna come to Fleming's HH. we ordered a lot of appetizers include bbq shrimp, raw beef, calamari, and sear tuna. too bad it's not around my area, otherwise i would come often.
Tropical Martini

The Bradbury Building

it's "500 days of summer" tour~~ this building was in the last scene of the movie where Tom meet Autumn at the interview. it's located in downtown and the outside looks very old and small... but the inside is beautiful!!! too bad the elevator is not open to the public, so we can't not get the view from above. but it's a good photo spot!
Angels Knoll
it's a cute little park with view of the downtown building and then i saw the bench!! i wanna see the view from Tom's eyes. but i guess it's popular thx to the movie. there's always people sit on there. urg.... :(

i went to SD again~ out of curiosity, we stop by the lounge on top of the Marriott and the view was okay~~ i like the view in Standard a lot better. we ordered the shrimp flat bread during their Happy hour for 1/2 price off. we stay there for a while, took some pictures and left. probably won't recommend it since the place is a lot small than it actually looks in the picture.

Laguna Beach

i finally come to the beach before summer ends!! it's my 1st time visiting Laguna Beach b/c it's kinda too far for me from my area. they got shops along the street and the beach was really close to it. we were thinking to visit the Crystal cove. but it's $15 for the parking and it's mostly trails. so we gave up since we were not up for hiking. i saw festival of art on our way back which remained me that i always want to see Pageant of the Master!!! but i guess i miss out this year again...
we went to Maggiano's for dinner since we don't know what to eat at Laguna. there were some traffic on our way back. although it's still early when we arrived, we still waitted almost 45 min for a seat. there's always a lot of people at Maggiano's. i guess it means good food~~

Pelican Hill

too bad i don't have Iphone apps. otherwise i could do a 360 photo shot. we stop by the resort while we were on our way to the beach. the place is absolutely beautiful! but the swimming pool is open for the hotel customer only and it cost $1500 for a 3 days weekend!!! that's $500 a night!
Pistachio Gelato.
we went to get some Gelato inside the hotel and it was really creamy~ there's a golf course inside the resort. So we sited by the window next to the golf course. aw~~ i felt like rich people.

Ichi Ichi

this place is almost like Jazz cat. they got a lot soup base to choose from and they also got fish cake in the meal. ^v^ luv fish cake. we ordered the Spicy Pork Bone & Thai coconut soup base. they are both pretty spicy and make my stomach burn afterward. Ichi has the "sauce bar" where you have to get the sauce by yourself. so i go free style on my sauce~ lol~ this is something really taiwanese IMO, buffet style hot pot. We happened to come during Happy Hour (M-F until 6:30pm), so we got 15% off entire check. i would definitely come back again before Jazz cat opens in RH.

the view was gorgeous! there were a lot people on Sat. and although we RSVP online, we still didn't get the seat with view.... too bad we can't experience the lunch with the view. it would be 5 stars if we were seated next to the ocean view.
i ordered spaghetti with clams. i was going to order the Gnocchi. but i changed my mind since i saw a lot other people order this one. but it didn't really wow me. just ok~ i would recommend the sea bass.
i would probably come here again for the dessert next time when there's less people to get the ocean view seat for sure. i just love the roof top restaurant in general.

this place is rather small. it's in a plaza where i won't drive in. even if i do, i probably won't notice it.
they have the Tuesday special for $12.99, but i got the 3 course menu $28 since i want the dessert~~ ^w^ i ordered the rib eye steak and it's totally different than i image... ahh i should keep in mind that i am in a Japanese restaurant. it's more like a flat iron steak instead... it's pretty tasty with the garlic toasted sauce. i guess i was too hungry b/c everybody else dish look so good too.
the best part is the dessert~~ i never had Panna Cotta before and i luv it~ it's rich and creamy with matcha sauce on the side.

Blue Water Grill

we went for the seafood after whale watching. there were some restaurants around the Dana point harbor. but we cannot decide which one to eat, so we drive up to Irvine to find something new. it was kinda late at that time, so we end up with Blue water grill since it's the only place that doesn't need to wait which is fine since we always want to try this place out. i saw something i don't normally see on the menu. cioppino and paella!! aww~ i just can't decide. i end up ordered the Seafood Paella. but it was just so so, it's a bit dry and not really Spanish IMO. the one in Viva Madrid has better paella. now i miss some real paella...

Whale Watching

i saw blue whale!!! yeah~ today is my lucky day~~ i've been to whale watching twice already and i haven't seen a whale yet. last 2 time were from San Diego and i only see dolphins and sea lion. i didn't put too much hope on this trip. but we were lucky enough to see the whale~ we saw it splash couple time, but we only see it's tail once. it's was pretty excited to see the tail came up. we latter saw some dolphins~ they are so cuteeeee~ there weren't a lot of them, but they like to swim next to the boat so we got a good view of them.

Dragon Boat Festival

we checked out the dragon boat fest over the weekend. but i thought Chinese Tamale day passed long time ago... i guess it's just any activity among the dragon boat clubs and a lot UC schools were in the race. there's wasn't much to see in the fest beside supporting for you team. we kinda went to try out babe's new camera~~^w^ and the pictures came out great w/ the new lens~~
