Inception

Finally!!! my inception!! i've been wanting to see this movie since the 1st time i saw the trailer. i like to watch Leonardo's movie b/c i think he always pick a good script. Inception needs a lot attention, otherwise it's hard to follow. i try to stay focus, but i must say Arthur(Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is cute!! i latter found out he's in "500 days of summer." aww~ what a cutie~ i love the 2nd dream they are in. the non-gravity scene in the hotel was stunning! but i don't like the ending... too tricky~~ i rather wish the director give us a clear answer to keep it simple and clean.

My House

clubbing @ my house. to be honest, i think the name itself is kinda confusing. but the idea is pretty cool and the place got a great vibe. we arrived at My House around 10:45pm and there wasn't really a long line. the dance floor was still pretty roomy when we got in. My House was actually smaller than i imaged. there's a bedroom upstairs, but i think it's reserved for the people to had table only, so i didn't got a chance to see it. too bad you can't really see the interior since it's kinda dark inside. i wouldn't tell there's a kitchen if i didn't check out their website beforehand. the dance floor got crowed latter, but it's still way better compare to the club in Vegas. i think that's why i like clubbing in LA a lot more. one thing i felt really funny about My House is there's a door man at the front before we went inside. we stood outside for a bit waiting for him to open the door for us. he said "Welcome to MY House" as he opened the door~ lol~~ makes me feel like i am in some kind of theme park. that's kinda funny~

Grill Clam

another restaurant recommend by my friend. i normally don't come to k-town for food b/c i don't speak the language + their waiters mostly don't speak English... such a hassle when ordering orz.. this place serves grill clams only~ all different kind of clams. we order the median combo plates which is enough for 4 ppl. it started with steam egg & rice, followed by the clams , scallops, octpus, shrimps, and ended with the noodles. it's something new to try. but this place is actually running out of business and the day we went was it's last day~~ it's kinda sad when i saw it's not even full when we walked in.

通天閣

i used to remember this place was always full of people every time i passed by. but i guess a lot more Japanese restaurant opened around area, so people start to go some where else. the service was not bad, but the food was just ok. we had the Octopus Salad which was just so so. i would recommend the salmon skin salad more. i had their dragon roll, but their roll falls apart easily... they now offer free ice cream and coffee at the end. but i guess it won't help me for coming back.

New Port Yachting

this is our yacht~ our friends rented the boat for the night to celebrate a friend's b-day. we had this boat from 6pm~10pm with open bar and food all night long. it actually just cruised inside and around the new port harbor and didn't really go out anywhere far.
SF Harbor
i remember last time i was on a cruise was 3 years ago when i went on a family trip to SF and that was really nice. and the one before that was when i was a sophomore in SD for the semi-formal dance.
but i like this time too since we got the entire boat for ourselves. everybody got really excited and start taking pictures once we got on. the yacht was really pretty and it got 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and also a kitchen in the lower deck. there're also couches on the deck where you can sit and enjoy the view. but it kinda got cold at night, so i stay inside the boat most of the time.
Chocolate Truffle & Mango Burlee
we brought out the cake that we bought at 85C around 9pm. i think i like the mango burlee over the chocolate truffle. but 85C also had coffe cream burlee which i think is the best!
the nightview was also really pretty and romantic. ♥ it

Eclipse

i kinda see Eclipse just because i saw the first 2. so i felt i need to finish the last one. i am actually not a fan of vampires and teenager love story. but the movie itself is pretty good base on the production and filming. In the movie, there's a huge debate on Bella's choice of becoming Edward's family. if i am Bella, i think i'll choose what i love just like Bella did in the movie.

Summit House

4.5 ★★★★ for the ambiance and the service
4 ★★★★ for the food
$$$ 50~100
it's my 2nd time eating here. last time i was here with company dinner and this time i came for the $19 prime rib on Weds.!!! they said they have the best prime rib in the OC. i totally agree! people could thought of Lawry's when comes to prime rib, since i never been there, i can't compare them, but i love Summit House! we arrive a bit early, so we kinda looked around. the restaurant itself is beautiful with a little garden behind it. we were sited around 6:30pm and the restaurant was already pretty full. i had my cottage cut rib medium rare with cream spinach and cream corn on the side. i like their cream corn a lot, but i still think Lawry's is better. the cream spinach is a bit bland.

we ordered dessert samplers after the meal and i like the chocolate torte the best!! (the one on the right) the chocolate is very rich and smooth! and it's not too sweet. i think it's the best chocolate torte i ever had~~

Long Beach Firework

look at all those people~ we start walking to the shoreline aquatic park around 8pm. there were a lot people there waiting for the firework already. i thought the firework is above the queen mary, so i try to pick a spot facing it. but the firework is actually above parker's lighthouse. i think we got a great spot b/c we are very close to it.

this is my best shot of the firework. it's last about 30 min. but the last 30 sec. is what worth seeing. we left right after the firework and we got out of the parking lot pretty fast. but there were still a bit of traffic in font of us...

Mai Tai Bar

we were at the long beach around 2pm. there were a lot of time for us to kill, so we went to Mai Tai Bar before the firework. they got happy hour from 4pm-7pm with $4 drinks and 1/2 appetizers. since it's July 4th, we thought it's gonna be packed, but this place was not crowed at all. we ordered the fired calamari, spinach deep, skewer, and fried shrimp. i like the skewer the best. we sited inside at beginning and moved to the patio since they got entertainment outside, dancers doing hawaii dance~~
the show was great!! the live band was there all afternoon, but the dance only show up for the last 30mims~ it's a great place to chill and enjoy the music with some drinks.

Huntington Beach Parade

Happy July 4th~ we went to see the parade in Huntington beach at 10am. since the road was blocked, we had to park 30 min aways from the pier... it got crowded as we walked toward the pier and the parade just started when we got there. Although there were a lot people, we still got a good view of the parade. there's also a festival going on at the pier which we went after the parade. few food vendors and some others.
i finally had my Funnel Cake~~ i like it w/ powered sugar, but it's hard to finish one by myself since it's very oily... we hang out at the beach for a while and went to long beach latter on for the firework.

Discovery Science Center

it's BOA weekend~ 1st weekend of every month, BOA offers free museum admission if you carry a BOA credit card. after checking the museum list, Discovery is the only place that interest me since i haven't been there yet. we spend $4 on parking, but we latter figured we can actually parked in Santa Ana Mall and walk to the museum. it's almost the same distance for free! the regular admission is $12 dollar. but thanks to BOA we save $24 today ^w^ this place is almost like California Science Center. Nothing too fancy except the cube. a nice place for family and kids.

we went to 85C bakery latter. i guess it's b/c it's weekend, the line was supper long. omg... i just want to buy some bread. i end up buying drink and the coffe creme burlee only. the creme burlee is not bad~ but i am craving for some bread....

鼎王 Shabu Shabu

we came here on a Wednesday since they got 10% off. i passed by this place couple time and this place always looks kinda empty. the food is actually not bad. i had the Miso soup and the Spicy soup. I like the spicy soup better. the meal comes w/ rice, but they are stingy on the rice. although i don't eat a lot of rice, i still think the rice portion is too small... that's the only sad part.

Golf Driving Range

i've been practicing golf these days~~ i used to play it, but i haven't play it for a while since last year, so it took me some time to catch up... so i am still beginner.. we went to the driving range after dinner at Ding's Garden. We end up too late when we arrived the driving range and the place was full already. We waited for couple minutes and luckily we found an open spot! it was hard to hit the ball in the beginning. but after 2 hours of practice, i could hit 75 yard.... XD i guess i need way more time to catch up w/ the others...

Shin Sen Gumi

we came here on Tuesday for their Happy hour of $1.50 per yakitori. they only have HH on Monday & Tuesday from 6-10pm. we were there around 6:30pm, but we still waited for an hour before we got to eat... we ordered a lot of yakitori~~ and some side dishes include fried squid legs, fried cheese balls, and chicken cartilage. i also had the vanilla parfait which is just okay.... it's actually just ice cream scoops w/ some caramel on top. i miss the fruit parfait in Gaja located in Torrance!! their parfait was soooo much better!! the bill ends up to be $33 per person. i can't image if we came w/out happy hour..
