Islands Burger

i carved for some burger today and Island is the only place i could think of that has decent burgers. i used to eat island a lot when in SD, but never in LA. somehow i feel like it's not a LA thing since LA get a lot more option to choose from. Luckily, we came there during Happy hour, so all the appetizers is 1/2 off. their happy hour is from M-F until 7pm. we ordered the Hula Burger-Mushroom with crisp red onion and we still end up so full even when sharing.

Pan's Kitchen 梁媽媽家

i eat Pan's Kitchen every week at work. so I've eaten most of their food on the menu. i ordered stinky tofu hot pot which is a new item that i haven't try before. the soup looks very spicy, but doesn't taste spicy. i think even Boiling Point get better stinky tofu when i think that's not the best. i guess i won't come back again b/c i get to eat it every day at work.

Cream Puff

i did some baking again. it's my 1st time baking the cream puff. the process is easier than i thought, but it's kinda hard to control the baking time. I guess i took the puff out too early b/c i don't want to burn it, so maybe that's why my puff came out not crispy. but it's a recipe i think I'll try again next time.

Buffalo Wild Wings

we went to get some wings for $0.50 each! they get happy hour on Tues.Wed.Thurs. with $0.50 each wing! we get spicy garlic, Asian zing, mango habanero, and Caribbean jerk. I like the mango sauce the best, and Caribbean jerk was really spicy to me. the wings are pretty good, but it's not like I'll go back for more when i want some wings. but it's worth to try for their happy hour.

Castaway

we decide to celebrate valentine's day at castaway restaurant in Burbank. It was pretty far to drive all the way up there, but since both of us never been there, we want to give a try and see how it's like. the ambiance and the service are nice. i requested a window seat which are quite nice and we can see a bit of downtown far away. 4 ★★★★ for the service and ambiance

i ordered seafood collage, pasta with white wine sauce. i like it, but it's not the best. the amount of seafood was decent, but the taste is just okay. i think i love orange hill better, food + nightview! but overall I enjoyed my night with babe~ to me, everyday is valentine's day when i am with you! ♥

Cooking 杏仁脆片

since i got bored being at home over the weekend, i decided to do some baking! it's my 1st time baking the almond cookies, but it came out great! i guess the receipt is easy even for beginner and it only takes about 30 min to bake the cookies!

i decide to give away some for sharing. i found some gift wrapping paper and put it all together at the last minute. i guess i got some talent at this b/c the wrapping looks great in the end \^w^/

JJ Cafe 小雅屋

we had a short dinner today at JJ bakery and tried their new items on the menu. the baby clam is a bit salty... but I like the taro cake. i feel like i haven't had it for a long time. A lot restaurants start to have Taiwanese food with a lot of varieties. I feel like we can almost have anything here just as in Taiwan, but just the taste isn't that great. we went to Yogurtland latter on for some sweets. i love the self-serve style that we can get whatever we want!! ♥

The Boiling Crab

i guess it's a place that need no further explanation! I love to come here for shrimps, oyster and fish & chips. there's always a long wait every time we come, at least 1 hour wait... but i think the food worth it!! i love their shrimp, especially the sauce that goes along with it. I've been here couple time and the seafood always taste fresh, but i think this time the shrimp is just OK. But i'll still come back for their seafood!

RA Sushi

We came here after work for happy hours. Mon-Sat until 7pm. too bad i forget my camera, so borrowed photo from yelp... they get 1/2 off all appetizer and sushi, $4 cocktail which i think is pretty good. we get Viva Las Vegas, Spicy Tuna roll, sesame chicken, fried squid roll, crisp tofu, short rib, dynamite, chicken teriyaki, and shrimp tempura. sushi is more of fusion style, but what's good about happy hour is that we get to try a lot of things which i enjoyed a lot.

Spoon House

i love their spaghetti! it's a small restaurant with Japanese owner. so their spaghetti are more of Japanese style. I've tried their Uni spaghetti, sea food spaghetti with meat sauce, garlic clam with white wine, and oven baked spaghetti with cream sauce. All of them are good!!! Uni spaghetti is something really special and different! it taste somehow like hot sushi plate, but in spaghetti format. I hope they will open a store near my location because i am a spaghetti lover!
