since our baby is still small, there aren't many restaurant that are BABY friendly.  this place just opened recently and i am urged to try it!  since it's newly opened, the place is clean and spacious, but mostly are booth and only suitable for 4 people which is understandable b/c it's good for single family. But we came with friends and they don't have many seating for large group.  we asked the waiters if they can arrange 2 booths into a large table and they give us a face.  The waiter definitely need more training.  but the owner was nice enough to help us out. the owner is very thoughtful and know how to treat his customers! Thumbs up!  i do not expect their food to be good since we are not here to eat. so i ordered the waffle and it was edible. better than i expected.  i would probably come here again when our baby is old enough to play at the playground. but they do charge $10 per kid.

CoCo's

new curry place opened in RH. i saw it often in taiwan but never tried it. i had the vegetable with cheese curry. good enough that'll make me come back for more. you can also add $1.5 for drink and small salad at lunch time. but i think curry house get bigger portion and choice.

Bobee

another Taiwanese restaurant opened in the area. we always give it a try for something new. i like their pork chop, but their side dish was kinda weird. they have Taiwanese entertainment channel showing on tv.

Jazz cat

yeah~ they got blue ribbon cheese pork chop! love it love it! i've been looking for it for a while. to be honest, it tasted like veal parmesan. i latter found tea bar also have cheese pork too.

Onion Head

another new restaurant opened around the area. we checked on yelp review before coming here and we didn't expect too much. i had bacon with mushroom spaghetti and i like it. they also have Kaya Toast. I saw it on TV before and always want to try it. it suppose to be coconut with milk cream butter, but it tasted like orange jam to me. i never had kaya toast before, but it doesn't tasted like what i saw on tv. :S

Marie Callenders

seasonal strawberry pie~~
the pie tasted great, but the whole buying experience sucks!! the waiter did not mention whip cream was extra $2. i found out the pie has no whip cream when i opened it up at home and i had to go back for it. i don't care about paying extra $2 for it, but the waiter didn't even care to ask. what a bad service.

Frisco's

frisco's girl~ they wear roller skates and roll around while serving. i've been here couple years ago and felt the dinning experience was so much fun. they used to do some dance during the meal, but this time we didn't see any performance. the interior was retro w/ car seats design.
chicken sandwich. not bad~ didn't really came here for the food, but for the experience and we actually got a deal from groupon, so our meal end up to be $1.60~ haha~

New Port 新港海鮮

this place has been re-renovated. i think the new model looks a lot more young and hip. they also design their pager as a lobster. how cute!!
the real lobster~ ha~ i always order the lobster everytime i come. it's the best i ever have. i heard their curry crab is also very good.

Ichi Ichi

this place is almost like Jazz cat. they got a lot soup base to choose from and they also got fish cake in the meal. ^v^ luv fish cake. we ordered the Spicy Pork Bone & Thai coconut soup base. they are both pretty spicy and make my stomach burn afterward. Ichi has the "sauce bar" where you have to get the sauce by yourself. so i go free style on my sauce~ lol~ this is something really taiwanese IMO, buffet style hot pot. We happened to come during Happy Hour (M-F until 6:30pm), so we got 15% off entire check. i would definitely come back again before Jazz cat opens in RH.

通天閣

i used to remember this place was always full of people every time i passed by. but i guess a lot more Japanese restaurant opened around area, so people start to go some where else. the service was not bad, but the food was just ok. we had the Octopus Salad which was just so so. i would recommend the salmon skin salad more. i had their dragon roll, but their roll falls apart easily... they now offer free ice cream and coffee at the end. but i guess it won't help me for coming back.

鼎王 Shabu Shabu

we came here on a Wednesday since they got 10% off. i passed by this place couple time and this place always looks kinda empty. the food is actually not bad. i had the Miso soup and the Spicy soup. I like the spicy soup better. the meal comes w/ rice, but they are stingy on the rice. although i don't eat a lot of rice, i still think the rice portion is too small... that's the only sad part.

Ojiya

this ojiya has opened for a while and we finally stepped inside today to check out what they have. This store sells Ramen mainly and some rise dishes. but we saw they got new Lunch Combination dishes which come with Soup & salads. I order the Katus Pork w/ Fish for $8.99. the Katus pork is thick and the fish tastes fresh. the 1st time experience and food quality overall were really good! They also have some new items including Gazya & Fried Rice, and Squid Ink Yakisoba!! I love Squid Ink!! I would definitely come back next time to try it out.
Squid w/ Fried Chicken. It's also very good~ recommend~ the highlight is the rice and soup are REFILLABLE!! awww~~ it's the 1st restaurant i been to that have refillable rice!

署國菜

aunt came to LA this weekend and we took them to the Manie's Restaurant inside the HK plaza. good that everybody eat spicy food in the family b/c everybody love it. we ordered a lot of the dishes include 香鍋雞, 蜜汁排骨, 蔥燒魚, 苦瓜炒蛋, 水煮兩樣, 詹茶鴨, eggplants w/ hot sauce, garlic crisp fish, etc.... we were too busy eating and i don't even have time to take picture... i recommend the 香鍋雞.
krispy kreme
we went to get some doughnut latter~ the little factory was so cute~~ although i wasn't a fan of krispy kreme, but it's a must eat for tourist...

Earthen

it's pretty famous around the area. it serves decent Chinese food with good taste! i love their shrimp dish! but it's a bit oily and makes my tummy sick sometime... i sometime go to 新金城 located inside the ranch 99 market since Earthen is always busy! apparently it's run by the same owner since the menu is pretty much the same.

UCC Cafe

we went to UCC cafe again for breakfast. the weekend brunch is so much better than their regular food menu + it's cheaper too. The meal comes w/ free drink, coffee or tea. Breakfast runs from $5.99 ~ $ 6.99. i ordered the black tea & Bacon Mushroom Spaghetti.
Babe ordered the French Toast w/ Sausage. 說真的... 賣像不是很好... but it taste ok. the french toast is more like deep fired doughnut. it's really soft and it's better than it looks. total bill ends to be $15 dollar. the place is actually pretty busy every time we came.

Diamond Family Spa

it's my 1st time visiting the spa. i've been to hot spring in Japan, but that's kinda different. i took my mom there since i got the admission coupon from my friend. i took my swimming suit with me and i was kinda in shocked when i went inside the spa b/c everybody was naked! wearing swimming suit seen awkward here... after bath, we went to the Main Hall. it's the area to rest, eat, and watch TV. they even got karaoke room! but it's all in Korean... i love how their floor was heated and their different kind of steam rooms. i went to try each one, from cold to hot. it was a fun 1st time experience. but i wouldn't come here very often to spend $25 on bath...

The Shack

so many restaurants opened around RH like Boiling Crab. Shack is also a place to eat Cajun seafood but with no wait! i guess the restaurant just opened, so not a lot people knew. they got promo on buy 2 lbs and get 1 lb free during their grand opening. we came here during weekday for dinner and this place was empty!! it was kind weird and finally another group came in after a while. the taste is similar to Boiling Crab. Restaurant.com is also selling the coupon, i guess they really need some business.

MonJa

grand opening!! we came for the free food on their soft opening last week~~ including alcohol~ XD they got pretty decent food like LuWei, fried chicken, sweet potato fries, and veggies. i was kind surprise they provide open bar for all you can drink~ that was generous. great event, but the food was just average :P

Tutti Frutti Yogurt

i came for their Coffee Bread!! yes! coffee bread!! not yogurt! i don't know when they start to sell bread, but i want to try it since it smells so good every time i pass by it. we came after dinner for the 20% discount after 8pm. there were actually a lot people here for the bread. I brought the original, the one w/out nuts, but i was a bit disappointed after the first bit. the coffee doesn't really blend into bread and it's not really soft. maybe it'll taste better when heated up. too bad i didn't have it right after it baked. after i brought it, i saw a lady took all the bread and brought 2 boxes of it. aw... i probably won't spend my money on it again.

Toffee Cake with ice cream!!!
it's soooooo good~~ i ordered it since we got a dessert for the entry combo!! i only ate their 6 layers chocolate before and think it's just ok. but their toffee cake was wayyyy much better. i didn't want dessert since i was so full after the Tri-Tip, but i end up finish it b/c it's sooooo good~
