JJ Lin & Evonne Hsu Concert

Club Nokia
it's the 1st time watching concert in Club Nokia. At first, i thought it's in Nokia Theater... what a huge difference... club Nokis is much more smaller thatn Nokia Theater... i was excited to see JJ. Evonne just an adds up.
the inside looks more like a club with open bar and the VIP section is just like a dance floor. The view wasn't that great from the location we stand. so we eventually move to the left side which is closer to the stage. i felt the concert was awfully short. i was hoping to see JJ and Evonne sing together. but not even that, it was more like a 2 separated shows...

Ten Raku BBQ

i feel like have been on a eating tour over the long weekend. kept eating all the way long. we order the set for $109. it's about right for 6 people to eat it. it comes with beef tongue, Kobe beef, prime ribs, pork belly, and steaks!! also including the soup and rice. but i was kinda sad that the set comes w/ no dessert!! the meat quality is pretty good. they also have 宮崎牛 for $99 for 130g!! what kind of meat is that!! anyway, i think that's way too luxury for meat...

The Boiler

Oyster Oyster and more Oyster!! i feel fat already... i love their house pan roasted soup with rice!! but i came here for the oyster this time. the oyster is not bad~~ but could be better~~ maybe the soup is still better. but the cashier did the bill wrong which is kind lame... =v=

Phili's BBQ

i lived in SD for 5 years and never tried Phili's BBQ.... i heard so much about it from my friends afterward and think i NEED to eat it!! we arrived the place around 5pm and the line is supper long already. i think it'll take 2 hours wait to get a seat. so we decided to order To-Go. i order the Rib & Chicken Dinner which comes with 2 sides for $13 dollers. The food was ready in 10~15 min and i don't understand why those people rather wait in line when To-Go is so much easier. The BBQ still tasted great when we got home. their sauce is a bit spicy and the meat is more grilled! totally my taste!!

The Tractor Room

We waited almost 30 min for the seat!! originally, i was planing to visit HASH A GO GO, but it takes an hour and half for a seat w/out reservation!! so we came to their 2nd restaurant which is 5 min walking distance away from it. Tractor Room is more like a bar and they don't have as much selection as Hash a GO Go, but the menu is pretty much the same. i order a fried chicken benedict. the portion was huge!!! it's enough for 2 people to share and still get full!! no wonder the line was so long!! i have to say the wait is worth it!

SD Trip

Balboa Park
after brunch we came to Balboa park for a walk. it's a nice place to come to enjoy the afternoon. it gets lots museums and gardens.
Coronado Island
after so many time visiting the place, i still love the scenic!! great beach, great view!! i think Coronado Island is a must visit when in SD. Hotel Del is supper pretty too.

MonJa

grand opening!! we came for the free food on their soft opening last week~~ including alcohol~ XD they got pretty decent food like LuWei, fried chicken, sweet potato fries, and veggies. i was kind surprise they provide open bar for all you can drink~ that was generous. great event, but the food was just average :P

Tutti Frutti Yogurt

i came for their Coffee Bread!! yes! coffee bread!! not yogurt! i don't know when they start to sell bread, but i want to try it since it smells so good every time i pass by it. we came after dinner for the 20% discount after 8pm. there were actually a lot people here for the bread. I brought the original, the one w/out nuts, but i was a bit disappointed after the first bit. the coffee doesn't really blend into bread and it's not really soft. maybe it'll taste better when heated up. too bad i didn't have it right after it baked. after i brought it, i saw a lady took all the bread and brought 2 boxes of it. aw... i probably won't spend my money on it again.

Anjin

yakiniku~ i love yakiniku and i love Anjin!! the meat quality is wayy better compare w/ other Korean BBQ~ I love Korean BBQ too, i just think Anjin is better, even better than Gyu Kaku. we order the beef rib, beef tongue, chicken, sausage, and pork cheeks. i love their ribs and chicken!! i usually don't eat chicken for BBQ since it's too dry, but the one Anjin has is pretty good. the bill turns out to be about $20 per person which is not bad!

we went shopping at The Camp before dinner since there's about 30 min wait. i've been to Irvine so many time, but i never know this place! it's actully pretty small, but i love the area!! great photo spot! love it!
we went to 85 °C Bakery latter. same as usual, the line is super long!!! and they finally get some new bread and more drinks!!! at last!! something new to buy!!!

Mission 261

i wouldn't thought of coming here if it's not for the event. the place looks quite nice, interior and decor, but the rating isn't that great, i just hope it isn't an American restaurant that serves fusion style Chinese food... we had an entire room for our party and it's actually a pretty good place to host a dinner. the food started to come up after we sat for a while, it looks alright and taste alright. what a relief! then we went to Neomaze latter in Pasadena, but i don't wanna talk about it.
